Around The World Review *

Amy and I met up on Friday night for a girly catch up. We decided to go for dinner at Around The World in Liverpool One (attached to Bierkeller). This was the first time I had been in, and I was so pleased when I walked in to see that it had a relaxed atmosphere. I don't particularly like restaurants that I don't feel at home in. It had dim lighting which I love for dinner and cocktails, although not to great for pictures, and I absolutely loved the laid back interior.

Shortly after being seated at our table, the waitress brought over some water for the table. Which I think is a nice little touch, I don't know about you but I love having water during my meal.

I also liked the layout of the menu, short and sweet. I can't be the only one who hates reading a novel to decide what I want to eat. I found the destination stamps really cute, and loved the clipboard. It truly is the smallest things that draw me in.

After an intense decision making process, I finally decided on a Long Island Iced Tea, one of my favourite cocktails. I really enjoyed reading the history on all the cocktails, located below each title.
I left ATW with some knowledge on cocktails, I love knowing that a Long Island Iced Tea was first created in 1972.

Also, £6.45 - bargain!

By far the most beautiful Long Island Icead Tea's I have ever had.

On to the most important part...the food! Hunters chicken is one of my all time favourite dishes. But I can be very fussy with my chicken, my bacon and even the barbecue sauce. But the chef did not disappoint. The chicken was delicious, the bacon was cooked to perfection and the bbq sauce was just right, not to strong, which usually ruins the whole dish. Coleslaw on the side...well that's the way to my heart.

The only thing that was slightly irritating, was the fact that we felt as though we were shouting at each other because of the music. But I can't really fault them on that either, the music was great! We caught the last half an hour of an excellent live singer. Then they played their own music, it really kept to the feel of the restaurant.

It is so nice to write a positive review on hospitality after such a negative one on Zizzi. Around The World have given me so many reasons to return and to recommend them to every one who will listen.

They'll be seeing me real soon.

My Travel Bucket List

"Travelling. It leaves you speechless,
then turns you into a storyteller."

I have many dreams and aspirations for my life, but travelling is the biggest one of all. Its a dream so big, that it scares me. That makes me want to do it all the more. I have been building up a travel bucket list since I was 7 years old. My plan for 2016/17 is to go on holiday to some of my most desired locations. Then 2018, well that's the year I plan to pack what I really need and just go. Throw a dart at a map, and go. Coming home every few months. Because before I jump head first into a career, and start building a life for myself, I want to live, I want to find myself, I want to discover what I am capable of, do the things I fear. I want to explore.

The following 12 beautiful locations are only a fraction of my bucket list, they are the vacations I hope to have in the next two years. Some are already being planned.

I hope you will join me on my travels.
Are you ready?

Homeware Wishlist

"A girl and her bed on
Sundays are an endless
love affair."

Morning lovelies! Its that day again were I never know whether to be happy that I'm off and lounging about, or whether to be sad that I am back in work tomorrow morning. Either way I do love Sundays, as long as I'm off work of course. I love waking up to the smell of my breakfast cooking, followed by a nice cuppa, curled up on the couch catching up on Hollyoaks. I am far too excited than I should be about the fact that I have persuaded my Nan to watch the entire series, so far, of Shadowhunters. I think she'll love it...... maybe... hopefully.

But I'm not so happy about the fact that I got paid on Thursday and 4 days later I barely have any money left. Sure I went to see Deadpool which was awesome, and sure I bought some cute cushions for my bed, and the shoes, those beautiful shoes. But I'm always left wondering whether it was all worth me being skint the rest of the week for.

I've decided to torture myself by making a little homeware wish list. In the next couple months I'm really going to try and make my bedroom more me. More calm, serene, chic!

On my bedroom decor hunt, I came across Live Laugh Love a few weeks ago and I am in love with all their shabby chic homeware!

30 Movies To Watch

"When it's good, cinema can be one of  the
most important things in a persons life.
A film can be a catalyst for change. You
witness this and it is an incredibly
spiritual experience that I'd never lived
before; well maybe only in a football
match." - Gael Garcia Bernal

Have you ever been in that situation when you are in work, and the only thing that is getting you through it is the thought of jumping into bed with some tasty snacks and binge watching a load of movies. But then when it finally gets to that time, and your all comfy in bed.... your mind goes blank. You don't know what to watch. So you spend an hour of your time scrolling through netflix or typing in 'things to watch' on google. And by the time you've decided, you only have time for one or two movies? It happens to me all the time. So I've devised a little list of 30 movies for you all to watch. Action, comedy, thriller, rom com, even those cheesy american teen movies we all secretly love. This list has it all. I've even added the trailers for you. You can thank me later.

1. Speed

2. One For The Money

3. The Bounty Hunter

4. The Ugly Truth

5. 27 Dresses

6. Now You See Me

7. Chasing Liberty

8. Leap Year

9. The Back Up Plan

10. She's All That

11. Naomi And Ely's No Kiss List

12. LOL

13. Life As We Know It

14. The Last Song
WARNING! The Last Song will destroy you!

15. It's A Boy Girl Thing

16. Legally Blonde

17. Mean Girls

18. Killers

19. From Prada to Nada

20. Chalet Girl

21. So Undercover

22. The DUFF

23. Just Go With It

24. Blended

25. About Time

26. The Breakfast Club

27. The Notebook

28. Safe Haven

29. The Longest Ride

30. Age of Adaline

This should narrow down some of that decision making time. And if you have watched all the movies on this list, I'll be making a part 2 next week.

Zizzi Italian Review *

"The heart of hospitality is about
creating space for someone to feel
seen and heard and loved.  It's about
declaring your table a safe zone, a place
of warmth and nourishment"

Yesterday started off great! A friend and I decided to go and see Deadpool, well more like I was dying to see it so my friend had to see it twice. Being on a high from such a thrilling movie, we decided to go and get a bite to eat in Liverpool one. Zizzi Italian. How can you go wrong with Italian food right?

We were told there would be a 5-10 minute wait, which I hate when I can see empty tables, but they redeemed their selves by showing us to our table within just 2 minutes. After sitting us down it took them 15 minutes to come over and ask us what we would like to eat and drink. I ordered a glass of  wine, a glass of water and spaghetti bolognese, my friend ordered a glass of amaretto and coke and spaghetti bolognese, then garlic bread for the table.

I took a sip of my wine, and it was way to warm. Even for house wine. It was although my glass of wine had been sitting in front of the pizza oven. Safe to say I didn't drink anymore of that, I kept to my water. So that was just under £6, wasted.

The food followed shortly after. The waitress asked me if I would like some parmesan cheese, I replied with a yes, and then my friend replied with a no when asked. The waitress did not return with my parmesan. The garlic bread with cheese was nice, hot. But turned cold pretty quickly. The spaghetti was not soft in the slightest, my bolognese sauce was tasteless, and you could fit all the meat in the dish on to a teaspoon. I would have had a better spaghetti bolognese ready meal from Tesco. My friend and I both decided that we could not finish the food. We put our knife and fork side by side on the dish, with the napkin layed over it, and pushed it slightly to the side. Every indication that we had finished.

...
...
...

20 minutes later, "are you finished girls". The woman picked up our plates and walked away without asking if we would like anything else. If we haven't ordered anything else then we must be finished right? You'd think. We were sitting there for a further 10 minutes until the woman asked if we would like the bill. I am usually a good tipper, but I didn't leave a penny over the total. My only tip for that place is get better hospitality.

We honestly could have gotten up and walked out of there and they wouldn't have noticed.
It isn't a huge restaurant, and there were roughly 9 members of staff. I expected a lot more.

This was not a great first impression, and I will not be returning again. When people ask me what Zizzi is like, my answer will be  "appalling".

Dr Beckmann Stain Devils *

A couple of months ago I received a box of three Dr Beckmann
stain removing products. I don't usually do this kind of review but
I thought it would be a great post to do because I'm sure I'm not
the only person who has accidentally stained their favourite clothes
and just haven't been able to get it out.

In the box where three bottles, which were each individually
designed to handle different stains. I wanted to test all three bottles,
so my nan very kindly allowed me to use one of her white t-shirts to
create three stains. And luckily all three of the stain removers worked,
because my nan wears that t-shirt alot.

So the first stain was made with cooking oil;

The second stain was made with Beetroot;

The third stain was made with pencil;

The great thing about the Dr Beckmann products is that if you
have a small stain on your clothing and you are out and about,
you could simply pop into a toilet and within minutes your clothing
will be restored back to its former glory.

I will certainly be buying more! So will my nan.
